Alcohol Suspected in Flagler Crash Killing 2

A four-vehicle crash on Florida A1A in Flagler County claimed two lives Friday evening in what officials say was an alcohol-related crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 66-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man traveling in a Ford Fusion on A1A near Mariners Drive were killed when their northbound car was struck head-on about 6:25 p.m. by a southbound Mercury Sable that was passing another car.

The two people who were killed have been identified as Kathleen Jonas Boos of Palm Coast, who was driving the Ford Fusion, and Carl William Boos of Easton, Pa., who was a passenger, according to the Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Mercury Sable, William Gerald Schwarz, 51, of Ormond Beach, was taken to Halifax Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Two other cars traveling on the roadway were also damaged after the two main vehicles involved collided with them, according to the FHP. The people inside were not injured.

FHP officials said alcohol likely contributed to the wreck. …
