Conditions Prove Tough at Our Favourite Regional Spots

LESLIE has been quite difficult this past week however there have been some good yellows picked up along Cod Alley.

Live shrimp and salt water yabbies have still been the best method, with a couple of quality yellows picked up trolling Little Rippers in purple colours.

There was one 60cm cod picked up on Ecogear ZX by jigging in the rocky structures around the alley way.


NOTHING has really changed over the last few weeks at Cooby.

Yellows can be found along the buoy line. Dropping ZX Dark Knight has convinced a few to bite but it is reasonably hard going.

Live shrimp and saltwater yabbies in the later parts of the day have also provided similar results.

A 55cm cod was picked up along the weed edge with a Kezza Coculla.


THINGS are still tough at Cressy.

Anglers are reporting a few smaller schools picked up off the boat ramp, while out the back of the toilet block they have also picked a few up however they have been smaller bass.

Hoping plastics and Masked Vibs have given results as well as blades.

Don't underestimate the benefits you can get from fishing smaller bass.

The experience can be well worth the time and effort put in chasing them down as your are fine tuning your retrieving techniques while at the same time there is still the chance of a personal best swimming among them.


THE Condamine is still running slowly with fair visibility.

Good yellows have been picked up around Pratten as well as a couple of smaller cod.

Spinner baits, Jackalls and live shrimp have been the best choices.

The part of the river around Tummaville has also seen a nice 74cm cod caught on a Bassman earlier in the week among heavy structures.

Yarramalong has given up some good yellows on salt water yabbies as well as plenty of euros entertaining the kids on worms.


THINGS have slowed a little this week, but there have still been some good results for those who persevered.

Pelican Point showed some good schools of bass, as well as Queen St. They were mostly smaller bass with some bigger ones taking the bite as well.

The timber line past Kirkleigh has given some bass up. Slow retrieving tail spinners gave the best results.

Some average yellows were picked up in the timber on live shrimp and salt water yabbies. Dropping ZX40s and Jackalls also gave results.


IT HAS been slow going at Coolmunda the past couple of weeks.

At the start of the the week, Coolmunda showed signs of picking up with some decent yellows and a few good silvers caught at the back in the timber.

Little Rippers and Kezza Mud Mouse slow trolled had picked them up as well as salt water yabbies.

A decent cod was dropped in the old creek bed, with another landed out near the end of Bracker Creek coming in at 79cm. …
