AUSTRALIAN V8 Dirt Modified Champion Kevin Britten is an almost unbackable favourite heading into this weekend's NSW championship at the Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway.

The Queenslander has been in red-hot form since taking out the national title in January and in recent weeks has added the Western Australian and South Australian titles to his name.

"We are three from three so far and the goal is to be six from six at the end of the season," Britten said. "But you can't get too cocky. Lismore is going to be very tough and anything can happen over the last three rounds."

This weekend doubles as round four of the Five Star Dirt Series, a V8 Dirt Modified Series that takes in each state championship along with the Australian title.

Britten leads the series after three rounds.

Regular Lismore visitor Scott Cannon finished runner-up to Britten last weekend in Murray Bridge, South Australia.

Despite missing out on the event win he amassed enough points throughout the night to take out the overall round win, joining Britten as the only round winners so far this season. …
