1 OFF THE RAILS ADRENALINE junkies are preparing themselves for the ultimate test as Derren Brown's Ghost Train arrives at Thorpe Park on May 6. It's the first ride ever designed by dastardly Derren, who promises that the 4D blend of virtual reality, special effects and movement will mess with your mind. It is, he says, "the world's only fully immersive psychological attraction designed to manipulate the human mind."

So what can you expect? The ride is 13 minutes long and takes place in a Victorian train carriage suspended in an old warehouse.

It took three years and 1,000 specialists to build and there are 12 possible journeys to experience with two different endings. If it's got Brown's name on it, you just know that it's going to be spectacular.

Tickets can be bought online at www.thorpepark.com 2 GET LOST AUTHOR Terry Deary has just opened the first Horrible Histories Maze based on his best-selling books.

It has already blown the mind of astronaut Chris Hadfield, a real-life space walker and International Space Station commander.

You remember Chris - he was the one who famously sang David Bowie's Space Oddity in the station.

"I've been lucky enough to serve on three space flights but this is as close as I've come to a virtual trip across the universe," he says.
