Not-for-Profit Donates 1K; Gladstone Job Skills Will Donate $1000 to Autism Queensland Ahead of Awareness Month

NOT-FOR-PROFIT organisation Gladstone Job Skills will donate $1000 to Autism Queensland ahead of Autism Awareness month in April.

After being invited to put a team together for the Go Blue for Autism Fundraiser to be held at the Gladstone Golf Course on April 2, the organisation decided to up the ante.

"There just isn't much awareness in Gladstone surrounding what is available support and resource wise for those with autism," Gladstone Job Skills' Steve Porter said.

"We are hoping to raise awareness by donating so by next year when Autism Awareness month comes around there will be a lot more on for it."

Active Training Specialist's Peta Hill, who has a son with autism, said she was the one who called Gladstone Job Skills and invited them to the event.

"So when I heard they wanted to donate I wasn't surprised, they are well known for helping out the community, individuals and other organisations," Mrs Hill said. …
