The Bedford Street drinking hole is now open for business.

Owned by Shaun Crake, The Chairman is a micropub offering craft ale.

But for people who are not fans of real ale, there will also be a range of spirits and cocktails.

And if that wasn't enough, there is also an open kitchen, which will be serving food such as steaks and burgers.

Shaun Crake, who already co-owns O'Connells further down the street, Sherlock's and The Star in Middlesbrough as well as The Wasps Nest in Stockton and Dubliners in Thornaby, said he was excited to be a part of Bedford Street.

"We know a lot of people wanted to open up businesses here so it's great we have been given this opportunity.

"There is a real buzz about Bedford Street."
