SURFING: Keely Andrew's former coach Ian Portingale is tipping the Sunshine Coast surfer to find her groove at next week's Drug Aware Margaret River Pro.

The 22-year-old was knocked out in the second round of the Rip Curl Women's Bells Beach Pro late last week and will now turn her attention to the West Australian event.

Portingale said Andrew was primed for a strong showing at the iconic Australian surf break.

"She went to Margaret River (in the off-season) a couple of times to get to know the break a bit better which will help her," he said.

"Being a natural-footer it will probably suit her over there and she has shown she can handle big swell.

"I think she will go very well and find some consistency.

"She has changed up her equipment a bit and will have some longer boards which will allow her to get on to the big swells a little easier."

Andrew has had a decent start to her debut Championship Tour campaign after progressing to the fourth round of the Roxy Pro on the Gold Coast and exited in round two at Bells Beach. …
