My Glass Often Half Empty When Keeping Up with Water Intake

HERE is some advice you have heard before ... at least, oh, let's say ... about 75 times - every week.

Drink more water. Eight glasses every day keeps nasties away, we are told incessantly.

Water does wonders for our complexion, enhances our wellbeing, makes us smarter, brighter, sharper.

However, for a lot of us the problem with a big daily water intake lies in (a) the actual remembering to drink it and (b) the annoying and constant need to find a nearby loo.

I've been through all the various methods of remembering to drink water: filling up a jug and leaving it on my desk, taking a water bottle with me everywhere I go.

I've even tried setting the oven timer to come on at half-hourly intervals to remind me to drink a glass of water.

But then old lazy ways creep back and I forget to fill the jug or take the water bottle or set the oven timer.

"Will eight cups of tea do instead of eight glasses of water?" I have asked knowledgable types over the years. …
