1. Caloundra Street Fair

2. La Balsa Park

THIS is a perfect family spot, offering playgrounds, toilets, barbecues, shady waterfront grassed areas, and even a coffee shop. There's an excellent short walk up the hill to the lighthouse where you'll be greeted by one of the best views on the Sunshine Coast. A bonus is you can take the dog for a walk (on a leash) with you.

3.Cotton Tree Markets

4. Cotton Tree Water Park

There are three separate areas, a small kids area at zero depth, an intermediate area and a larger kids area at a depth of 400mm, which is where the Mega Soaker is.

5. Stand-up paddleboard hire and lessons

STAND-up paddleboarding is becoming increasingly popular. As well as being good for your fitness, it is heaps of fun. Stand-up paddleboarding is easy any can be enjoyed by anyone of any age and any fitness. It is a great activity for building core strength, while toning arms, legs, back and abs. Included with all stand-up paddleboard hire at Cotton Tree is an introductory lesson on the beach. Cruise the flat water river or surf the waves.
