Brahmans Gain the Edge in Match against Rivals Sharks

RUGBY LEAGUE: Despite a 12-0 loss to the Whitsunday Brahmans, Souths' Grant Rovelli said the scoreline didn't represent the competitive nature of the game.

Rovelli was on the sideline assisting for the clash at BB Print Stadium Mackay on Saturday.

"Both teams ripped in during the game, there is a healthy rivalry there between them." he said.

"I honestly believe it could have gone both ways, although the Brahmans scored off some well-placed kicks."

Rovelli believes the A-grade games this year will be competitive for all teams.

"It is still early days and it's hard to start picking out things," he said.

"However, a big factor is if you don't turn up to play with the attitude to win, you most likely will fall short."

Souths will face Norths in their next game of the season and Rovelli is expecting an action packed game.

"You have to remain positive. Norths beat Sarina in their game so it is shaping up to be a good game," he said. …
