Fashion Race Is on; Cool Times Ahead Trackside

WITH the season slowly (and painstakingly) moving into autumn here in the Clarence, thoughts turn to warmer clothing and with that, the lead up to our biggest fashion event, the July Racing Carnival.

Quicker than you can unpack those jackets and jumpers from the mothballs the carnival will arrive so there's no time like the present to start thinking about what to wear to the biggest event on our social and sporting calendar.

The recent Myer Fashions on the Field held during Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day at Royal Randwick in Sydney brought out the some of the trends that are likely to carry through to the winter carnivals including hat styles, colours and separates choices.

The broad brim hat is still proving to be a hot commodity trackside and wool felt numbers are always a popular choice for a winter carnival. This season's offerings feature a lot more bling as models sporting heavy crystal and diamante embellishments are charging out of the gate. …
