Under-14/15 Ironman and Ironwoman heats start at 8am today.

PRESSURE can come in all shapes and forms. Which is why Maroochydore junior Tiarnee Massie admits to feeling the pinch ahead of her second Aussies.

Months of sacrificing mornings and afternoons for training, while trying to juggle her studies at Sunshine Coast Grammar School has prepared her for a big weekend in a handful of events.

A 5km swim in the pool in the mornings, followed by training on the board at the beach in the afternoon, has her feeling confident of a strong performance.

She will be one of the leading contenders in the under-15 board, swim, iron, but said she was feeling pressure to perform well.

"(Training) has been really good," she said.

"It's a bit scary now because we've been training for this all season. If we make one mistake it could be all over.

"I'm feeling the pressure but I'm also really excited."

One advantage she will have is competing on her home beach, where she's been "practically her whole life". …
