Boy, 15, Hurt in Bat Attack

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy was assaulted with a bat and had his phone and wallet stolen in an attack.

It happened after a boy and girl, both 15, got off a train at the station at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough at around 9.20pm on Saturday. Another man aged between 20 and 30 also got off, as all three had boarded the wrong train.

As they crossed the bridge over the station to search for a bus stop, the two teenagers asked two older men for directions - described as being 18 or 19 years old - who then chased all three into Park End.

After the three separated, one of the attackers used a bat to assault the 15-year-old boy.

Another man, in his late thirties and wearing a vest, confronted the two attackers who ran off.

But they returned shortly after, say police, and assaulted the boy again - before stealing his wallet and phone.

The victim then made his way to a nearby house with the 15-year-old girl where a member of the public drove them to a police station. …
