A POPULAR children's party business in Newcastle has been placed in liquidation.

The Play Station Gosforth shut its doors suddenly at the end of last month, when its signs were removed and a notice of forfeiture from Stateplus Limited was attached to the venue's entrance.

On April 18, a meeting of creditors was held at RSM Restructuring Advisory LLP in Newcastle, at which it was confirmed the company would be wound up.

Established on West Avenue in Gosforth four years ago, The Play Station operated a children's soft play business with a catering facility offering children's parties.

It also ran a fully licensed bar for adults and provided tailored packages to suit families' needs. The suddenness of the company's closure prompted discussion on social media, and several small businesses which shared the site with The Play Station are still attempting to reclaim items removed in the process, including pottery, ceramics, frames and photography. …
