I READ with interest the front-page headline in The Journal of April 18 ('Europe debate sweeps North').

I expected perhaps two pages equally split between both sides of the argument on whether the UK should leave or remain in the European Union.

Unfortunately, as with some of the national press and the BBC/ Guardian, this was so one-sided! Shame on the otherwise good Journal.

You devoted a whole page, with pictures, to the tiny numbers supporting the 'Remain' campaign, such as Jeremy Corbyn's front-bench colleague and MP for Newcastle Central Chi Onwurah.

Boris Johnson addressed a huge packed gathering at the Centre for Life for the 'Leave' campaign, and there was hardly a mention.

Those of us who are not active politicians, and without the massive vested interests hidden from us by the 'Remain' campaign advocates, deserve a fair factual analysis from the media and press.

It is only weeks since Messrs Cameron and Osborne were stating they could back a 'Leave' campaign if reforms were not promised! …
