Dear burger lovers,

Did you know you're risking your life every time you bite into a delicious gourmet hamburger with a pattie that not well done?

Or that's what the NSW Government would have you believe with its new Hamburger Food Safety Guideline that has gourmet hamburger chefs hot under the collar.

New rules mean that every pattie needs to be cooked to 71 degrees C, with no trace of pink meat inside.

With the growth of gourmet burgers in Queensland how long before these rules land in Mackay?

These new guidelines are based on a US study that published that five people have died in the US in the last 23 years due to consuming ground beef.

Seriously, cows have killed more people than that, a UK study has gathered reports showing that, in the same period, cows have killed 13 people who were just out going for a walk. …
