THERE are some nights in life that would have been way simpler if you had stayed at home. Or went home early with less drink under your belt.

Just ask Gladstone lad Ryan Adrian Hodgson whose venture out on a Friday night became a misadventure when the 23-year-old stole another man's wallet.

Making the night bleaker Hodgson says he suffered injuries yet has no memory of how he got them.

"All he can remember is he had injuries all over his body and was admitted to hospital for three days as he had broken bones, tail bone, and broken ankle," Hodgson's lawyer Jun Pepito told Gladstone Magistrates Court.

Mr Pepito told magistrate Mark Morrow his client "should have gone home a number of times" that night.

Hodgson pleaded guilty to stealing a wallet and $150 cash at 11pm on February 26.

Police prosecutor Gavin Reece said a Reef Hotel patron had been sitting at a table with friends when he left his wallet after security told him to leave the premises. …
