Teenager Locked Up for Stabbing Horror at City Burger Restaurant

A TEENAGER has been locked up for a stabbing at a Tyneside McDonald's restaurant.

Horrified diners watched on as a 29-year-old man was knifed in the leg in the Byker restaurant in Newcastle.

The victim was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary following the attack, which happened at around 4pm on Tuesday, January 19.

He suffered a large cut to his upper leg, which needed stitches.

Police quickly identified the attacker and arrested him at his home, where they found a two-inch knife that had been used in the attack.

He was charged with wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and threatening a person with a bladed article.

The 16-year-old boy from Walker who cannot be named for legal reasons, has now been sent to a detention centre for 20 months after pleading guilty to the offences, at Newcastle Crown Court.

Police have revealed pictures of the blade used in the attack, as they warn others of the dangers of carrying knives. …
