THIS is a candid and hilarious look at primary school politics from a popular Aussie blogger.

'Mrs Woog' is the moniker behind the witty and unflinchingly honest Australian blog, Woogsworld. Loved by her many fans for telling it like it is Mrs Woog writes about her kids and life in general or, as she calls it, the mundane. In her debut book, Primary School Confidential, Mrs Woog has the opportunity to expand on her anecdotes and she certainly knows how to spin an entertaining yarn.

The book covers Mrs Woog's time as a primary schooler - back in the late '70s and early '80s; her years as a primary school teacher; and life now as the parent of primary schoolkids.

Readers will be transported back to their own years of school in the days of corporal punishment and long before lunches were organic, preservative-free and packed in designer lunchboxes.

Although Mrs Woog was a little too young to experience the joy, I certainly shivered (or rather gagged) at her mention of the small tepid bottles of milk provided to unfortunate primary schoolers until the early-mid 1970s. …
