CCTV Possible Clue in Michelle's Death

POLICE have released CCTV footage of Michelle Lord and her husband at the Tumbulgum Tavern in the last hours of her life, in the hope of finding new information about her death.

Ms Lord, 57, died after the silver Nissan 300ZX she was a passenger in plunged into the Tweed River near Tumbulgum about 9.30pm on October 18 last year. NSW police released CCTV footage on Tuesday of Ms Lord and her husband, Edward Lord, 51, earlier that night.

The footage, time-stamped at about 8pm on the night of the crash, was recorded at the Tumbulgum Tavern, about 500m from the site where the couple's car crashed into the river. It pictures the couple entering the premises and staying for a short time before leaving.

Tweed/Byron Local Area Command acting crime manager Detective Sergeant Laurie Moroney hoped witnesses would come forward with information.

"It's the only footage we have of them at this stage. Someone might have seen these people prior to the accident," Det Sgt Moroney said. …
