Car Community Rallies to Help Mate in Need; Cruise 4 Richie Hopes to Help Steer Friend to Better Life

TOOWOOMBA man Richard Brumby is going through hard times after his leg was amputated following a medical issue.

But his friends in the Toowoomba car community want him to know that he's not alone.

Jeremay Hooper has organised the Cruise 4 Richie event to raise money which will help his Mr Brumby adjust to life after the operation.

Mr Hooper is a member of Toowoomba Car Scene, a group which meets fortnightly to talk about all things car related.

He said most of the members knew of Mr Brumby - a manager at Bursons Auto Parts - because of his connection to the car scene in the city.

"He's been around the car scene for over 12 years and looked after a fair few blokes that I know," he said.

At 11am on Sunday, June 26 a group of car enthusiasts will drive from the Kearneys Spring Softball Fields to the Toowoomba Showgrounds.

Once there they will take part in a show and shine competition and enjoy a barbecue. …
