LAST Saturday's Biggest Cup of Tea at Glastonbury was another successful event for the hall committee with around 100 people through the doors.

After the introductions, speeches and formalities were completed, a delicious afternoon tea was soon devoured with nigh on a scrap remaining.

The tables were quickly cleared for the highlight of the day, the legendary grocery grab.

As an annual event it's something to be seen, a crowd of people stealing groceries from each other. But it's all part of the game with lots of camaraderie involved.

There were plenty of laughs creating a feel-good atmosphere with the best part when the highly coveted trolley was given away as a goodwill gesture.

Around $500 was raised on the day with proceeds on their way to Cancer Council Qld.

Hot pot, trivia night

THE hot pots were aplenty at Lower Wonga Hall last Saturday night, with a huge assortment of very tasty tempters for everyone to share.

With delicious slices and desserts following, it was a feast fit for a king. …
