Bandmates' Tribute to Tragic Paramedic Chris

THE former bandmates of a music-loving paramedic reunited for one last gig in his memory.

Popular paramedic Chris Allen died in January, aged 54, at James Cook University Hospital on January 28 this year - the day after he suffered a massive brain haemorrhage during a call-out at Tees Dock.

Such was Chris' popularity that hundreds of mourners - including many former and serving North East Ambulance Service crew - gathered to pay their respects at his funeral at St Mary's Cathedral in Coulby Newham.

Chris was well known for his love of music and his love of playing bass alongside his bandmates in The Foreign Legion.

The memorial night was arranged by Chris' old bandmate Steve Innocent, brother Mike, friend Simon Lewis and partner Liz Limon to celebrate his life.

Funds raised will go towards helping Marton Football Club's Junior Team, which Chris supported, and James Cook intensive care unit (ICU) which fought so hard to try to save his life. …
