Revamped KFC Opens with 38 Jobs on Offer

KFC will open the door to almost 40 jobs when it unveils its revamped Nebo Rd restaurant on Thursday.

Major renovations to KFC, at the corner of Nebo Rd and George St, have been under way for about four months.

The revamp and expansion was part of a 10-year celebration for the outlet, Collins Foods Limited construction project manager Paul Paddison said.

"The group is all about brand awareness, so each store in Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory gets a minor re-brand every five years and a major re-brand every 10," he said.

Collins Foods Limited operates every KFC and Sizzler company in Australia and is the co-owner of about 50% of Snag Stand, which is not based in the Mackay region.

The exterior of the Nebo Rd building has been changed, becoming squarer "to give it more street appeal" and the car park has been extended.

Mr Paddison said the block next door to the original lot had been purchased to expand the restaurant by at least 30%. …
