THE WSL World Tour said thank you and goodbye to one of the best surfers of the past two decades and a true crowd favourite in West Australian Taj Burrow.

Taj first qualified for

the tour way back at the

end of 1996, but believed he was too young and decided to do the qualifying series again.

He qualified for the next year and officially had his first year on tour in the 1998 season.

He was the WCT rookie of the year in 1998 and now has 11 WCT wins after first winning the Coke Classic in 1999 in Sydney.

He also surfed in well more than 20 major finals in a career spanning 20 years.

He is a lover of life and always a bundle of fun to hang out with and I was lucky to spend our early years together surfing in the Billabong Team before surfing together on the WCT. …
