Talk of Hodgson's Future Just Background Noise to Three Lions

ROY Hodgson is ignoring the increased background noise about his England future and focusing fully on finishing top of their Euro 2016 group.

Thursday's enthralling last-gasp win over Wales made amends for the frustrating draw with Russia, sending the Three Lions top of Group B ahead of tonight's match against Slovakia.

A draw in St Etienne would be enough to seal qualification to the last 16 but outgoing FA chairman Greg Dyke has suggested reaching the quarter-finals is the minimum requirement if Hodgson is to stay.

The 68-year-old's contract expires this summer but Dyke, who leaves his role next month, believes it will be renewed if England have "done well and played well."

The FA chairman's comments dominated the news agenda on the eve of the match but Hodgson had no interest in such talk ahead of tonight's encounter at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard.

He said: "It has been raised many times before so it does not make any difference to me one way or another. …
