ON THE 13TH FEBRUARY, Biddick Academy students hit the streets of New York in a five day trip to explore the culture and lifestyle behind The Big Apple. The Manhattan Hotel in Times Square was host to 21 students from different year groups and two members of staff while they explored the ups and downs of New York life from the green grass in Central Park to the sky high views of the Empire State Building.

After the long seven hour flight, the group took to the streets and did a bit of New York shopping as a way to stretch their legs. After a night in their rooms back at the hotel, they got ready to head out to complete the heady climb the Empire State Building. At the top they stopped to take in the panoramic views of the city in all its glory, as it glowed with life.

The next day the students took in a bit of history and also visited the new World Trade Centre and the memorial site of 9/11. …
