THE new Oxford dictionary has cited an impressive collection of new words.

Nobody could like new words more than me, but trying to keep track is not easy, especially with those pesky acronyms.

I don't like those at all, even though I know I have an obligation to embrace them if I want to sound modern and chipper, as opposed to old and fuddy duddy.

I thought I was up to speed when I started throwing BFF around, but that's way old hat (Best Friends Forever, for the uninitiated).

I had only just come to terms with LOL (and yes, I too thought it meant Lots Of Love... but not so), when I had to get my head around FML and YOLO.

I'd only just got over the small revelation of LOL meaning "laugh out loud" when FML and YOLO came into my life.

Still keeping up?

I believe YOLO means You Only Live Once, as in "I'm going to tell the boss what I really think of them next time he confronts me because hey, YOLO". …
