Acoustic Folk Gig a Family Affair

WITH Irish heritage it's no surprise Ipswich musician Shane Hogan can't help but love folk.

The father of six said his upcoming live show would be an "honest, working class" gig that would include his newest original tracks.

"I've been playing music for a lifetime," he said. "I'm also a member of The Life of Reilly Band so I put my solo career on hold for a while. Now it's kicking off again.

"I've been doing a lot of writing over the last two years and hope to have a new album out by summer."

Three of Hogan's six daughters will be joining him on the Studio 188 stage in a little more than a week's time.

"I love performing in Ipswich and grew up in the area," he said.

"My daughter Sarah has her own band Allurer, my other girl Bonnie is a classical violinist and my youngest Bailey will all be joining me on stage.

"It's very special. All my kids have a deep love of music and they all have something to do with it one way or another I guess it's in their genes. …
