FOR those looking for something to do with your four-legged friend, the Mackay dog walkers and social group has you covered.

They meet up every Saturday morning at the Bluewater Quay for a leisurely stroll to Caneland Central and back.

Starting at 7am, the walk usually lasts between 45 minutes to an hour and is open for anyone to enjoy.

"It's a great walk, it's a nice flat area for all dogs of all ages and abilities against a beautiful landscape," Mackay Regional Council's economic development officer Samantha Self said.

"It's a great social activity as well."

Dogs of all shapes and sizes can join in the walk along with their owners.

"The great thing is, because they walk up towards Caneland Central and walk back, if there are people who have got a little dog or older dog that may not want to walk the whole way, they can stop halfway and the group can pick them up on the way back so they don't miss out," Ms Self said. …
