THANK you for all of your generous donations over the past week. Once again we have received massive amounts of support and donations and our store area is looking very healthy. This week we are appealing for cat litter trays and scratch posts. With over 100 cats and kittens currently in our care, cat accessories are a huge help at present. Our staff and residents are not quite sure where summer has gone this year. One day we have the paddling pools at the ready to keep our animals cool and the next week some of our older residents prefer the warmth of our kennels. We all have our fingers crossed the weather perks up for the continuation of our 120th Birthday celebrations. Our staff are now gearing up for our Mad Hatters Tea Party on Sunday, July 31, between 1.30 and 3.20 and there will be plenty to do with crafts and garden games and weather permitting a bouncy castle. There will also be a tuck shop on the day selling sweets, crisps and juice. Anyone attending our Mad Hatters Tea Party should pop along for our workshop on Thursday, July 28, 2pm until 3pm as we will be making Mad Hats.

Our shelter is still full of gorgeous cats and kittens for rehoming. This year we have had many kittens arrive needing veterinary treatment. They have been found in walls, gardens and building sites and we have seen a huge increase compared to previous years. As always our charity still promotes neutering and all our cats and dogs, when possible, are rehomed neutered. Not only does neutering stop unwanted litters it also has a lot of health benefits for both toms and queens. Please speak to us or your veterinarian if you are unsure of the benefits of neutering and its importance. Over the next few weeks we will keep you updated on the special little resident kittens we have been looking after as they near rehoming age. Our staff and volunteers never tire of looking after these animals and helping them grow strong enough to be adopted into loving new homes with fantastic owners. All our rescue animals are just looking for their chance of happiness. If you feel like you could open your heart and home to one of our animals, please visit us and enquire about adoption. …
