'Me Time' Essential for Mums; in Our Last Hey Mumma Piece, We Asked Mums How They Felt about Having Time to Themselves

IT SEEMS that "me time" is something all mothers in Toowoomba can agree on.

For the final week of our Hey Mumma series, we headed down to Toowoomba Plaza to find out what Toowoomba mums thought about the importance of getting time to themselves.

Michelle King, who has 11 children aged from one to 25, said "me time" was essential for being a better parent.

"You need that five minutes just to go, 'everything's okay', 'yeah I spoke to that one meanly and I feel bad'," she said.

"You get to reflect and it makes you a better parent if you can do that."

As for how she got her "me time", Mrs King said she did anything she could.

"I go to the shops, sit in the car, go for a coffee."

Single mum to two children Kellie Goodhew agreed.

"It's very important to have a little time out. It's good for both the kids as well as the mums," she said.

"But if you can catch up with other mums and the kids can have a play, then that's pretty good. …
