Travellers Face Days without Their Luggage after System Fault at Heathrow

PASSENGERS have been told they may have to wait days before being reunited with their luggage after a baggage system fault at Heathrow Airport.

The error affected several international flights leaving Terminal 3 yesterday. Some airlines urged passengers to travel only with hand luggage.

A number of people took to Twitter to vent their frustrations, including Priyanka Patel who arrived at Newark Airport in New Jersey today to discover none of her bags were there including one carrying the outfit she is wearing to her brother's wedding on Saturday.

She wrote: "Got to US and our baggage is still in London. Not impressed when my brother is getting married in two days!! Ridiculous @HeathrowAirport.

Leanne Proelders, who arrived in Los Angeles, said: "Where are the bags from @VirginAtlantic #23? Ticked off."

An airport spokesman apologised and said the fault had been fixed and services were normal today. …
