Police: Man Shot Girlfriend in Argument, Then Hid Body

A Jacksonville man has been arrested in last week's shooting death of his girlfriend.

Percy Allen Stucks Jr., 30, was located in Georgia and is now in the Jacksonville jail charged with murder and evidence tampering in the death of 39-year-old Dorelle Dawn Davis.

The two had been arguing at an Eaverson Street boarding house when Davis was shot in the head July 8, police said. Stucks fled to Pensacola and then was accused of coming back and dumping Davis' body in the 3600 block of Spring Grove Avenue where it was found July 13. He then went to Richmond Hills, Ga., where he was apprehended by police there.

Police were called to the boarding house July 12 when the landlord found what he thought was a blood trail leading from the room Stucks and Davis had been living in for about three weeks.

He told detectives he thought Stucks was out of town. Police found blood and evidence of foul play and said it appeared an effort had been made to clean up the room, said Lt. …
