Cinema Plan for Bay; Stockland Confirms Expansion Plans on the Table

NEW cinemas, specialty stores and restaurants will be built in the next multi-storey expansion to Stockland Hervey Bay, but a development start date has not been slated.

Plans approved by the Fraser Coast Regional Council show development likely to occur near the older end of the existing centre next to Aldi.

The expansion will feature new restaurants and cafes with a refurbished passenger transit centre and entry to the shopping centre.

Stockland Hervey Bay centre manager Paul Davis said the group was continuing to progress the latest expansion plans.

"The project is being scoped as part of our future projects register, however, it is very early days and we do not have an indicative start date for this next stage of development," he said.

"We have enjoyed an excellent reception from customers and retailers alike, following the completion and grand opening of the first redevelopment, and we also appreciate the strong support we have received from council. …
