FROM infinity pools to church crypts, the 2016 winners of the Northern Regions Master Builders Association (MBA) awards were announced last weekend in a ceremony at the Ballina RSL Club.

In addition to a host of specialised awards in categories such as best kitchen, best pool and best use of concrete, the big ticket titles of Residential and Commercial Builder of the Year and Subcontractor of the Year were also awarded.

Byron Bay-based Atlanta Building took out the title of MBA Residential Builder of the Year.

Run by Cameron Paton and Paul Osbourne, the company took out seven individual awards in addition to Residential Builder of the Year.

"I can't complain that's for sure," Mr Paton said.

"We've won awards before, but to really clean up like that has put us in a nice position where we can hopefully get some exciting projects. We've got a few underway already."

The award for MBA Commercial Builder of the Year went to Watpac Construction and Ted David's Carpentry took out the title of MBA Subcontractor of the Year. …
