Nat Struggles on Streets; Mates Sleep Rough for Homeless

AFTER living on the streets for four days Nat Spary is tired, cold and hungry but determined to help the homeless.

Mr Spary and his friend David Willadsen are armed with beanies, swags and little else on their mission to raise $100,000 for what they describe as a hidden problem.

So far they spent their time scrounging for food and sleeping in Toowoomba's main streets.

Mr Willadsen even went without food yesterday to really experience being homeless.

Mr Spary said it was a rough week.

"I haven't got much sleep, I'm really struggling, it has been a long few days," he said.

"We are facing the same daily struggles that homeless people face. I have my first meal of the day at 11am and sometimes it is my only meal for the day.

"Only six per cent of people experiencing homelessness in Australia are visible. Just because we don't seem them doesn't mean they don't exist."

Mr Spary is well on his way to his goal of raising $100,000 with $27,000 already donated for The Basement Soup Kitchen. …
