NEWCASTLE lost their leadership last week when they failed to overcome an in-form Durham Academy team - but are still just two points behind new leaders Chester-le-Street.

They are at home to Tynemouth today and skipper Jacques Du Toit is looking forward to a tasty encounter.

He said: "They are always spicy games against Tynemouth but we look forward to the game and hope our catching improves this week.

"We dropped Liam Trevaskis (who scored 92) in last week's game and it proved very costly."

South North have won their last two games and are just seven points from the summit.

They travel to lowly Benwell Hill, who are third from bottom but have a 25-point advantage over Eppleton.

The Hill are without Adam Hickey but Phil Nicholson returns to the team.

At the wrong end of the table the "match of the day" is perhaps at Eastwood Gardens, when second-bottom Eppleton travel to basement side Gateshead Fell without Durham's Paul Coughlin. …
