THE bionic vet, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, is back. And this time we get to find out more about the science behind all his cutting-edge procedures that save our pets.

He has invented countless operations, and now we go behind the scenes as he attempts some of the most risky of his career - from harvesting stem cells to creating bionic limbs.

In this first special, it's all about 3D printing, which the Prof admits "blows his mind". And when you see a printer creating a real live thing, like an ear for example, you'll be amazed too.

And there are still cute pets playing a starring role. King Charles Cavalier Molly is a regular patient because she has a condition affecting the brain and spinal cord.

But a suspicious lump appears after Molly hits her head on the washing machine door, and owner Tania is worried.

"If Molly wasn't here, our lives would be pretty empty," says Tania.

And Noel confirms the worst - "The swelling has all the hallmarks of a tumour. …
