A BIOMETRICS firm is to exhibit at Europe's largest security exhibition as its overseas sales continue to gather momentum.

The Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate-based ievo Ltd, which designs and manufactures industry-leading fingerprint readers, will showcase its products at Security Essen 2016 in Germany next month.

The event, now in its 40th year, is the world's leading fair for the security and fire prevention sectors, attracting 280 businesses from around the globe.

Established in 2009, ievo differentiates itself within a fast-growing market through an exclusive focus on producing the most reliable fingerprint readers available. Its core product, the ievo ultimate, uses multispectral imaging that maps fingerprints through a number of polarised and nonpolarised images that reflect not just the surface of the skin, but the layers beneath it.

This is converted into binary code using AES (128 Bit) encryption, the data from which is stored on a control board.

The board connects with the security system, allowing or preventing access based on whether identity can be confirmed. …
