All prices correct at time of going to print, available while stocks lats THERE is something indescribably special about Africa - the endless skies that somehow seem bigger and brighter than any elsewhere.

The raw beauty of the landscape that stretches on and on until your eyes can't take it in any more.

The smell of dust, the heat and the sweat, it's everything you imagine it to be - and then some.

I've been lucky enough to visit Africa many times as a tourist, travelling around using local buses, eating by the side of the road and staying in cheap, but sometimes not cheerful, places.

I've been back on a professional basis, reporting on the amazing work done by charities in small villages, where their help to provide clean running water is life changing.

In between that, I have visited the family home there - my parents spent 15 years living out in the bush in East Africa.

While day-to-day living certainly wasn't glamorous, the chance to see this continent in its wildest form was incredible, and I'm thankful I've had those experiences.

I've brought back many things from my time in Africa. Thankfully these days you don't have to sit squashed in economy carrying an oversized wooden gorilla head.

You can get the glory of African art online from the comfort of your home or from your high street.

It may not be as adventurous, but hey, if you want to spin a yarn about how you got your Masai blanket, I won't tell This bright and beautiful basket is a great serving container for warmed rolls. The cheerful coloured napkins inside will help with condensation and crumbs too.

As sure as a leopard never changes its spots, I can guarantee that if this plate was filled with chocolate biscuits, you wouldn't have to wait too long to see these cats in their full glory.

The giraffe is one of my favourite creatures on the planet - with eyelashes as long as your fingers. This wonderful wallpaper is magnetic, so not only does it look fabulous, but the kids can hang their favourite drawings on the wall as well. …
