FOR the first time in London's history, we'll now have 24-hour weekend Tube travel, helping to cut night-time journeys by an average of 20 minutes, with many cut by more than an hour.

The Night Tube was first touted in 2013, but it's been hit by delays and disputes. I'm pleased that, just as we pass my first 100 days as Mayor, we've managed to get this much needed service up and running.

We've also been working to ensure that passengers can travel with the same confidence in their safety that they're used to during the day. As part of this, I've decided to provide an extra PS3.4 million of funding so that we can have an additional 100 police officers on patrol at stations throughout the network.

On top of this, we're putting extra bus services in parts of London to ensure that Londoners who live more than a walking distance from a Tube station will be able to finish the last leg of their journey using public transport. …
