Big Bond an Incentive; 'Flight Risk' Granted Bail on Drug Charges

A SOUTH Grafton man, charged after police allegedly seized $12,000 worth of drugs from his home, has been granted bail pending a $5000 security bond.

Daniel Hollingsworth appeared via AVL in Grafton Local Court yesterday, to apply for bail over charges including the supply and possession of prohibited drugs, and dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

The charges stemmed from a search warrant executed by local police at a Bligh St home on Thursday, in which police allegedly located and seized quantities of methylamphetamine, cannabis plants and seeds, LSD, MDMA and cash.

Police said the total estimated potential street value of the drugs was $12,000.

A 14-year-old boy at the home was also issued a future court attendance notice for supply, possession and cultivation of prohibited drugs.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Nick Wiles opposed bail, labelling Hollingsworth as a flight risk due to the serious nature of the allegations. …
