Award Lifts Spirits; Natalie Richardson Named People's Champion

AT SOME point we've all felt like slamming the phone down on annoying telemarketers or hapless call centre workers.

But if you've ever got off the phone and felt the person on the other end had done a decent job, there's a chance Natalie Richardson was behind it.

At the weekend, the former Chanel College student took out Auscontact's People Champion award for 2016.

The award is designed to give recognition to the people behind the scenes who support contact centre workers. Playing down her role, Ms Richardson, who now lives in Brisbane, described what she did as coaching and training for contact centre workers.

But, coming up against big companies like Allianz and organisations such as the Australian Tax Office, Ms Richardson managed to come up trumps at the award night held at the Sofitel hotel in Brisbane.

"It was great and very surprising because my father passed away the day before the interview (for the award) and I didn't think I'd done well at all," Ms Richardson said. …
