YOUNG Newcastle United defender, Jamie Sterry, admits his loan move to League One Coventry City has been a "big change" for him, but he's relishing the opportunity for regular first-team football.

Sterry, who made his Premier League debut at home to Tottenham Hotspur last season, as well as playing the full 90 minutes in the Magpies' 2-0 EFL Cup win over Cheltenham Town, is thought to be a big part of Rafa Benitez's long-term plans.

The 20-year-old right back, along with Adam Armstrong, signed a new four-year contract at Newcastle last month. Armstrong enjoyed a hugely successful season with the Sky Blues last season, scoring 20 goals in League One, and Sterry is hopeful his loan spell at the Ricoh Arena can be just as successful.

"It's a big change from Newcastle but I felt a loan move was needed at this point in my career," said Sterry.

"It's a great set-up here and the players have been really welcoming, so it was the correct decision for me to come here. …
