Life Is Looking Up FORTOMMY as Trip to 'Space' Is a Blast

AN 81-year-old has had his dream fulfilled of 'going' to space.

John 'Tommy' Alderson said he always dreamed of going to outer space and with the help of Bridge View care home and the Life Science Centre, the aspiring astronaut was able to see the stars up close.

His care home in Choppington, Northumberland, offers every resident the opportunity to live out one of their dreams, but initially they didn't know how they were going pull off taking Tommy to space.

Ann Mielnik, the manager at Bridge View, said: "We are attempting to meet resident's dreams, no matter how big or small.

"When Tommy asked to go to space, we just looked at each other and thought how on Earth? But thanks to Life we have been able to offer him an amazing experience."

Tommy received a VIP experience at Life with one of their expert science explainers and saw an exclusive show in Life's planetarium before doors were open to the public. …
