THE Pin Point Recruitment League Cup more or less went to form with all the Division One sides making progress at the expense of lowerleague opposition.

Cramlington Town Blues almost pulled off a surprise win when they came up against Ponteland United Pythons - but went down 2-1. Newcastle City Milan were pushed all the way by a spirited Whitley Bay BC Blues side before coming out on top 2-0. There was a superb clash at Stotts Road, where Newcastle East End Blues took on Blyth Town Greens.

Goals went in both ends at regular intervals, Louis Dixon and Tom Bremelow netting for Greens to go with two each for Mason Chrisp and Aiden Parkin.

Remarkably, East End squared matters thanks to counters from Kyle Cannon, Liam Brennan, Kayden Elsie (2) and Cain Patterson (2).

The sides could not be separated and it went to a penalty shoot-out, which Blyth Town won 4-3. The Pin Point Recruitment League Challenge Shield produced wins for Grainger Park (5-1) at Ashington CFC Colliers and Jarrow FC (6-4) at home to Dudley and Weetslade. …
