Pittsburgh (2-0) at Oklahoma State (1-1), 3:30 p.m. (ESPN): The two Power 5 conference teams have never played but will engage in a home-and-home series. The Cowboys will be attempting to recover from a crushing loss to Central Michigan last week in which they gave up a desperation touchdown on an untimed play - which was awarded to CMU by an official's mistake. A nice matchup will be Pitt cornerback Ryan Lewis (nine solo tackles and the game-clinching interception last week against Penn State) against Oklahoma State wide receiver Jalen McCleskey (11 receptions for 103 yards).

2 FOOTBALLS

No. 25 Miami (2-0) at Appalachian State (1-1), noon (ESPN): The Hurricanes have the somewhat dubious honor of being the first Power 5 conference team to play in Kidd Brewer Stadium in the first meeting between the two teams. The return game in Miami doesn't happen until 2021. Still, the expected attendance record of more than 31,000 is about the norm these days for Miami home games.

Vanderbilt (1-1) at Georgia Tech (2-0), noon (WJXT): The Yellow Jackets have dominated the series since 1941, going 11-0-1 during that span. Tech won the last meeting in 2009, 56-31. Expect a short game. Both teams will emphasize the run and both teams could stand to improve on run defense.

Boston College (1-1, 0-1) at Virginia Tech (1-1, 0-0), 3:30 p.m. (ESPNU): Points might be hard to come by. The Eagles held Massachusetts to minus-23 yards rushing last week and are third in the nation in total defense. Despite the 45-24 loss to Tennessee, the Hokies are still 18th in the nation in total defense, third against the pass. Virginia Tech leads the rivalry 8-5 since both became ACC members, and won two ACC title games against the Eagles.

South Carolina State (0-2) at No. 5 Clemson (2-0), noon (Fox Sports Florida): The Tigers have won two games by six points to start the season but aren't likely to be tested like that against their cross-state MEAC opponent. …
