Baseball's Best Fire It Up; Gun Players Do Battle at Coffs Event

COFFS Harbour will be battling for baseball supremacy over the next three days as the the local association hosts the Northern NSW Country Carnival.

This weekend is the first time top level baseball has returned to Coffs Harbour for many years as senior representative teams from the Hastings, Tamworth and Lismore associations all aim to grab the big prize.

The same squad that made it to the B Country championship game for Coffs Harbour has been largely retained.

The locals will be looking for young guns Cameron Martin and Sam Langler to make an impact and are also welcoming back pitcher Mitch Inskip.

Inskip is set to be a future star of the game, having pitched NSW Country to victory in the Australian under-18 championships earlier this year.

While Coffs Harbour manager Ben McCall is delighted with the team he has at his disposal, success on Monday's finals day is far from guaranteed.

A typically strong Tamworth side will bring a host of familiar faces to the coast with former Coffs coach Craig Lee managing a team featuring Callie Windsor, Aidan Lee and power hitter Nathan Handsaker. …
