THEY have already packed out gigs all over the country, but Newcastle band Eat Fast are preparing to play their first hometown headline show.

The quartet will bring their brand of frantic fuzz-rock to Newcastle's Head Of Steam on October 14.

Despite only forming last year, Eat Fast recently performed at Reading and Leeds festivals and have received plenty of national radio airtime.

Discussing those Reading and Leeds slots, singer and guitarist Adam Pearson said: "It was fun. I couldn't hear the drums 10ft behind me - it was crazy! The experience was good and hopefully next time it will be even better."

Adam originally started writing songs alone while studying a PhD in Edinburgh.

He said: "I was writing and recording in my bedroom with no distractions - just making songs that I wanted to listen to." But, on moving back to his native North East, he played those songs to friends and eventual band-mates John Edgar (guitar and vocals), and the former Let's Buy Happiness rhythm section of Mark Brown (bass and vocals) and James King (drums). …
